Best Practices
PPC has developed a series of best practices materials including Model Policies and supporting “Fast Facts”
background issue papers with facts and figures, discussion of legal and policy issues, examples of pilot projects
and early adopters, and resources for further research. Best practice materials strategically address issues and
industry practices which contribute to the high cost of prescription drugs in the United States.

PPC Legal Project
PPC is engaged in significant legal work aimed at assisting policymakers with developing legally sound policies
to address prescription drug costs, as well as defending those policies if and when they are challenged in the
courts by the pharmaceutical industry. Legal work includes a number of collaborative efforts including providing
research and expertise, and where appropriate, joining with consumer and health advocacy groups to file “Friend of
the Court” legal briefs in cases seeking to overturn innovative policies aimed at reducing prescription drug costs
and increasing access.
